Donald Trump’s Attitude Toward Women
It can be argued that Donald Trump’s attitude toward women is irrelevant insofar as his role as President of the United States is concerned. But, as Fox News Anchor Megyn Kelley said, such attitudes do give insight into the qualities we should seek as the leader of our nation.
When Trump’s friend, Philip Johnson, asked Trump for advice on how to “deal” with women, Trump replied: “You have to treat ‘em like s--t.”
"Women have one of the great acts of all time. The smart ones act very feminine and needy, but inside they are real killers. The person who came up with the expression 'the weaker sex' was either very naive or had to be kidding.”
“If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America.” (April 16, 2015).
“You know, it doesn’t really matter what [women journalists] write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.”
“I moved on her [“Access Hollywood” co-anchor Nancy O’Dell). … I did try and f--k her, she was married.” [Moments later as he saw actress Adrienne Zucker], “I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. . . . Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything. . . . Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.” [Transcript of a 2005 conversation by Donald Trump with TV host Billy Bush]
In a 2015 Republican Presidential Debate, Fox News Anchor Megyn Kelly questioned Trump on his attitude toward women. “You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs,’ ‘dogs,’ slob’ and ‘disgusting animals.’
“Only Rosie O’Donnell,” Trump interrupted to the laughter and applause of his followers who dominated the audience.
“For the record,” continued Kelly, “it was well beyond Rosie O’Donnell. You once told a ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ contestant it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees. Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as President?”
Trump did not dispute her quote. “What I say is what I say,” he replied. “Megyn, if you don’t like it, I’m sorry. I’ve been very nice to you, although I could probably not be based on the way you have treated me. But I wouldn’t do that to you.”
Over the next three weeks, he attacked Kelly on twitter as “sick,” “overrated,” and “crazy.” In a CNN interview he said: “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her . . . whatever.”
For the record: Twenty-six women have accused Donald Trump of various forms of sexual misconduct from “groping” to rape. In 2023, a jury found Trump guilty of “sexual abuse” and awarded E. Jean Carroll $5 million. (After he continued to defame her, a second jury awarded her $83 million for defamation.) While Trump and his supporters claimed that this meant something as “insignificant” as groping, the presiding judge explained that the narrow New York state law at the time of the offense, limited “rape” to the forcible introduction of the penis. The jury had concluded that he penetrated her with his finger, an act that is now widely defined as rape by most states including New York and the United States Justice Department.
